I’m on board as a sketch card artist for the latest offering from Upper Deck for the Avengers Assemble Trading Card release for the Avengers movie.  I had a blast with these, and I’ve created a few puzzle cards as well as a few stand alone cards.  I’m not going to show them all and ruin the surprise for everyone.  All of these are hand painted individually, all hand cut by hand by me.  No mechanical reproductions here.  Each is unique to itself.

So, here we are.  A couple of examples of what you can expect to find from me.

A couple of Iron Man 3 card puzzles with one stand alone one.

a couple of 2 card puzzles featuring Captain America, Iron Man, and a few single Captain Americas

A giant 4 card puzzle of Thor.

I think punk rock, especially for me, was a big middle finger to this whole talent thing.

I think punk rock, especially for me, was a big middle finger to this whole talent thing. -  Mike Watt

Punk rock played a pivotal role in my youth.  It helped shape me into who I have become today.  A lot of good things, a few things that I should eventually grow out of but more than likely won’t.  To me being punk rock wasn’t about giant mohawks and safety pins in your ears.  To me punk rock was about doing what you want regardless of how people look at you or want you to do.  It was about free spirited rebellion, nothing malicious or violent, but creating what you wanted to create how you wanted to create it.  Not listening to the mainstream voices that tell you that your leather jacket just isn’t cool, or that you’re supposed to embrace Top 40 music and fit in.  Bands like D.I., the Circle Jerks, Bad Brains, were and always will be influence on my creativity and musical tastes because they did it the way they wanted to do it.

A huge thanks to Mike, Wes, and Mike.  You guys know why.

A even huger thank you to Ashley, she tolerates my rebellion like a champ.  I don’t know how she does it.

This is why I do what I do.  Because I want to.  Because I enjoy it.  Hopefully others will enjoy it too.

Here are a couple of pieces I did of Keith Morris.  Former lead singer of Black Flag, the Circle Jerks, and current front man for OFF!

Hope you enjoy.  These are available for purchase.  11×14 on paper with spray.

Short Bio for the provider of todays quote Mike Watt for those who don’t know.

Michael David Watt (born December 20, 1957 in Portsmouth, Virginia) is an American bassist, singer and songwriter.

He is best known for co-founding the rock bands Minutemen, dos, andFirehose; as of 2003, he is also the bassist for the reunited Stooges and a member of the art rock/jazz/punk/improv group Banyan as well as many other post-Minutemen projects.

CMJ New Music called Watt a “seminal post-punk bass player.” In November 2008, Watt received the Bass Player Magazine lifetime achievement award, presented by Flea.

Here is a recently completed piece I did of Brandon Snyder 1B for the Texas Rangers currently on the 40 man roster.  Hopefully he’s with the Rangers for a while.

Brandon R. Snyder (born November 11, 1986 in Las Vegas metropolitan area, Nevada) is a first baseman who is currently on the Texas Rangers 40-man roster.

Snyder was a 1st round draft pick by the Baltimore Orioles in the 2005 MLB Draft.

Snyder made is MLB debut on September 10, 2010 against the Detroit Tigers. He came in as a defensive replacement in the 9th inning. His first Major League hit, an RBI single, came against the Toronto Blue Jays on September 13, 2010 off of Blue Jay’s pitcher Marc Rzepczynski in the 2nd inning.

Snyder played 6 games on 2 separate stints with the Orioles in 2011.

I was contacted recently to do a  Star Wars sketch card.  I still think it’s pretty dang cool that people think enough of my work to put it in personal collections or in their homes.  It’s appreciated, by both me and my family.

Here is the sketch card I did, and a few examples of different ones I’ve done.

As always, I’m open for commissions.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look.
