Oh, so they have Internet on computers now! – Homer Simpson
Leaf Trading Cards is releasing a Best of Hockey set very soon.
I’m pretty excited to be a part of this set. I painted a handful of cards for this set, it’s interesting doing non super hero cards, something that isn’t quite in my comfort zone, but I had fun with these and hope to do more for them soon.
Here is an example of a couple of the cards that I did for this set. Gonna leave a bit of the element of surprise for everyone out there so I’m going to limit what I show.
2013 Leaf Best of Hockey sees the company’s high-end buyback format hit the ice for the first time. Giving collectors a second chance at some of the sport’s most valuable cards.
Every box of 2013 Leaf Best of Hockey has just two cards. The first is a buyback that is either slabbed or graded. These cards include a mix of key graded rookies, vintage cards, autographs and autographed memorabilia cards. Authenticated autographs from such all-time greats as Gordie Howe and Wayne Gretzky are also among the possibilities.
The second card in each box is a sketch card with original art drawn or painted directly on the card. These cards offer unique looks and intricate takes on hockey’s most recognizable stars. 2013 Leaf Best of Hockey sketch cards include randomly inserted Gordie Howe autographs.
Leaf is promising a limited print run, approximately half of their Best of Baseball and Best of Football releases.
