October 8th and 9th is Fan Days at the Irving Convention Center. I’ll have a table set up in artists alley, if you’re in the DFW area this weekend you really should make it an effort to attend the show. Lots of celebrities for autographs, tons of cool vendors, some great artists, and quite a few killer comic book creators will be there.
This is one of the pieces that will be with me and my wife at our table. Stop by and see us. Look for the banner with the rather large orange 13 on it.
This piece measures approx 12.5″x35.5″ and is one solid porcelain tile. It will be available for purchase and is one of a kind. The pictures really don’t do the tile justice, it’s got a nice pattern on it.
All true artists, whether they know it or not, create from a place of no-mind, from inner stillness – Eckhart Tolle
Linocut is a printmaking technique, a variant of woodcut in which a sheet of linoleum (sometimes mounted on a wooden block) is used for the relief surface. A design is cut into the linoleum surface with a sharp knife, V-shaped chisel or gouge, with the raised (uncarved) areas representing a reversal (mirror image) of the parts to show printed. The linoleum sheet is inked with a roller (called a brayer), and then impressed onto paper or fabric. The actual printing can be done by hand or with a press.
Over the weekend, I started working on a few hand printed linocut prints on tile. A bit more paint and a nice layer of polyurethane will finish these up.
I’ll have these at FanDays on October 8th and 9th in Irving.
OK gang, you know the rules, no humping, no licking, no sniffing hineys.- Harry Dunne

October 8th and 9th Official Pix will be hosting Fan Days at the Irving Convention Center in Irving, TX.
In May I had a table in Artist’s Alley for the Dallas Comic Con. We had a blast, it was our first convention, and it was awesome. The staff was friendly and helpful, the other artists were cool to meet, and the attendees were pretty amazing. My wife and I had a great time and we are both looking forward to Fan Days.
So, I’ve decided to do a Fan Days exclusive set. These 4 pieces will only be available at Fan Days, they are limited to one set and they will not be reproduced. All are original, on natural wood, and they can actually interlock together as well. All of these are hand painted, and not prints. They are approx 4″x6″ and 1/2″ deep.
Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up. – Pablo Picasso
A couple of pieces done over the past weekend. The Venom pieces are based on a cover from Tony Moore from the latest on going Venom series.
Both measure 8.5″x11″
And a couple of Punisher pieces. One was painted on an actual Punisher #1 comic book.
I’ve completed a quick run of original pieces of Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters. These are very limited and will not be reproduced and each one is done by hand and no two are alike. These are not prints. Each piece is hand signed and numbered. All are available.
